SUV carrying 15 immigrants crashes into tree in Mission

Authorities are investigating an immigrant chase that ended when the driver crashed her SUV into a tree in Mission.

It all happened off Bryan Road and 1st Street around 10 a.m. Monday.

Mission police told Action 4 News that investigators received a 911 call about an suspicious SUV on the city's southside.

Officers went to investigate and spotted a Ford Explorer loaded down by 15 people and the driver.

A Central American woman driving the SUV refused to stop for police leading them on a chase that ended when she crashed into a tree.

Firefighters, paramedics and U.S. Border Patrol agents all responded to the scene.

Paramedics rushed four people to the hospital for broken bones and other non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators reported that the driver will face criminal charges while the 15 illegal immigrants inside the SUV will be processed for deportation.
