A tattoo on the decomposed body found in Pharr is what led a family to believe it is their missing sister.
It has been 28 days since Sandra Fiscal went missing.
However, on Saturday Sandra's brother, Moises Fiscal, received a call from Pharr police.
Moises had high hopes that this painful chapter in his life had reached an end.
"Have you found my sister? He said well we got to talk to you personally," Moises Fiscal said. "I asked him again is it good news or bad news and he said what we have to tell you, you got to come in I can't tell you over the phone, right there and then I knew something was up."
In fact things had come to an end but it wasn't what the Fiscal family had hoped for.
Moises said that investigators informed him that they found a decomposed body by a canal near Alondra St. and Ruisenor St. in Pharr.
The body was barely identifiable except for a tattoo with a name, on the right ankle.
"They asked me what name was in the tattoo and I gave them the name of the tattoo," Moises Fiscal said. "Sure enough more likely it is her."
That name was Armando, Sandra's first husband, along with her youngest son's name.
The Fiscal family won't be able to know for sure if the body belongs to Sandra until autopsy results come out Monday.
The autopsy results will also determine how Sandra died.
"For me something criminally happened cause the way the body was set and the way it was covered by debris," Moises Fiscal said. "Somebody knows something, somebody did something."
Moises tells Action 4 that the body had the same clothes Sandra was wearing the last day he saw her alive.
The body was found mere feet from Sandra's house and where her family lives.
He says the family and police walked the area numerous times searching for Sandra and didn't see her.
"It's inconceivable to know that it was so close and we didn't see her," Fiscal said.
It was a neighbor who called police about a rotten smell coming from the field.
Right now, the family is mourning the death of their quote spontaneous sister, who always made everybody laugh.
Sandra is survived by four children.
