Teen certified as adult in Brownsville kidnapping, murder

A judge has certified a 15-year-old boy as an adult in the brutal kidnapping and murder of a Brownsville man.

Juvenile Justice Judge Menton Murray certified Jorge Alberto Castro as an adult in the July 2012 death of Reyes Bocanegra.

Bocanegra was kidnapped from a seafood restaurant in Brownsville but authorities found his body in Rancho Viejo.

Several suspects, including Catstro, have been arrested in the case.

Now certfified as an adult, Castro is facing capital murder and aggravated robbery charges.

Investigators believe the kidnapping and murder may have links to crime in Matamoros.

None of the suspects have gone to trial.

No court hearings have been set for Castro.
