Cameron County Jail: 17-year-old Misael Rubio

A judge has certified a Brownsville teenage to stand trial as an adult for a robbery where they held a homeowner at knifepoint.

Cameron County Juvenile Justice Judge Menton Murray certified 17-year-old Misael Rubio as an adult for the crime.

The incident happened at a home on Sylvia Lane back on January 26th when Rubio was 16-years-old.

Investigators reported that 19-year-old Helio Martinez and two juvenile suspects held the homeowner at knifepoint.

They three ransacked the home and ran off with a plasma TV.

Brownsville police were able to catch Rubio, Martinez and the other teen involved.

A court date for Rubio was not immediately available.
