Teen sought for Halloween night kidnapping in Pharr

Authorities are asking for the public TMs help in finding a teenager who stole a car with a 5-month-old baby inside.

Pharr police are looking for 16-year-old Carlos Bustamante is several criminal charges.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a 16-year-old girl reported Bustamante took off in her 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The incident happened on the 300 block of East Juarez Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Halloween night.

Police said Bustamante was a passenger in the car but took off without permission.

The 16-year-old girl told police that her 5-month-old baby was inside the car.

Investigators were able to speak to Bustamante by cell phone.

Bustamante agreed to leave the girl next to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle in San Juan.

Police found the baby unharmed in a car seat off 1st and Lincoln Streets but Bustamante remains at large.

Bustamante is facing unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and child endangerment charges.

Police believe he may be in the stolen white Pontiac Grand Prix with license plate numbers CKT-1202.
