A teenage suspect in a drive by shooting in the Little Mexico area faced a judge on Tuesday morning where he was issued a $50,000 dollar bond.

Angel D. Garcia appeared before Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Homer Jasso on Tuesday morning.

The 17-year-old is accused in an early Sunday morning drive by shooting that left a 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound in the stomach.

It all happened off West San Angelo Drive in the gang-dominated Little Mexico area south of Alamo.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies believe Garcia is responsible for a drive by shooting.

Investigators said the 13-year-old survived the shooting and has already been released from the hospital.

Garcia remained in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail as of early Tuesday afternoon.
