A Laguna Vista man is facing criminal charges following a domestic disturbance where a teenage girl was injured defending her mother.
Port Isabel police arrested Rene Villarreal on multiple criminal charges early Wednesday morning.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called to a domestic disturbance off Port Road around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Villarreal allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend TMs home and started hitting her.
The woman TMs 13-year-old daughter stepped into help her mother but Villarreal pushed her leaving with injuries on her arms and right hand.
Police charged Villarreal with two counts of burglary and one count of injury to a child.
Villarreal remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail under $60,000 dollars in bonds.
