Two teenage girls were taken into custody at the Gateway International Bridge after they were caught with nearly $600,000 worth of liquid methamphetamine.
The 18-year-old Brownsville resident and 19-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, resident were attempting to cross into the United States on Saturday.
During a secondary inspection, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers found the alleged liquid meth hidden inside several household product containers.
The packages weighted a total of 39.9 pounds with an estimated street value of $598,500.
The teens were sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
