A San Benito husband was jailed after being accused of threatening his wife and assaulted her while she held her daughter.

Cameron County Constables arrested Jose Andres Leos on assault, terroristic threat family violence and child endangerment charges on Thursday.

The alleged crime happened at Laureles Park in San Benito around 6:50 p.m.

The San Benito man told is wife, I TMm going to beat the (vulgarity) out of you, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Action 4 News.

The threat resulted in the victim fearing serious bodily injury, authorities documented.

Leos also grabbed their daughter and drove off with her unrestrained in the car, the wife told police.

That TMs when she jumped into the vehicle to protect her daughter.

Leos allegedly assaulted the woman after stopping the car and jumping in the back seat.

The San Benito man was booked into the Cameron County Jail on the state jail felony and Class A misdemeanor charges.

His bond was set at $12,500.
