Winter weather is returning to the Rio Grande Valley early Monday morning.
A strong cold front will move through south Texas late Sunday night/early Monday morning, dropping temperatures by 20-25 degrees within an hour after its passage.
Temperatures will then continue to fall throughout the day Monday into the low 40's, some areas of the Rio Grande Valley seeing temperatures fall into the upper 30's.
Winds between 15-20 mph will make it feel like it's below freezing.
The front will also increase the chance for light rain showers throughout the day Monday.
The cool, overcast, drizzly weather pattern will persist through Wednesday.
Temperatures will begin to return to normal Thursday as will the sunshine.
