Today was day five in the racketeering trial of former Cameron County DA Armando Villalobos.

Jurors heard testimony from several new witnesses in the Villalobos trial.\Three of them who had worked as prosecutors under the former DA.

One of those prosecutors, Rebecca RuBane, oversaw the Amit Livingston murder case.

RuBane told jurors she once met with Villalobos and Mario Hernandez, the husband of Livingston's victim Hermila Hernandez.

According to testimony, Villalobos told Mario Hernandez he had the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Livingston during the meeting Villalobos referred Hernandez to Austin-based attorney Eduardo Lucio.

Lucio, Villalobos's former law partner, is facing racketeering charges in a separate case.

Although Lucio has not gone to trial, case hasn't gone to trial, prosecutors alleged that Lucio got $200,000 from that wrongful death lawsuit, in which he gave a cut to Villalobos.

Hernandez's family got $300,000.

Jurors are expected to return to court on Saturday morning.

A federal judge overseeing the case issued a strict order forbidding *anyone* connected to the trial with speaking to jurors.
