Two men land in jail after allegedly breaking into a Jeep and stealing important documents. Police said 29-year-olds Jose Martinez and Homero Pineda broke into the vehicle parked near Benston Park in Mission.
The vehicle theft duo made off with credit cards, birth certificates and social security cards.
Police were able to track them down with the help of eyewitnesses. Each man is charged with burglary of a vehicle and two counts of fraudulent use or possession of identifying documents.
Their bonds are set at $110,000 for the crimes.
Police said they found the tools used in the burglary, and recovered a Harlingen victim's birth certificate and social security in their possession.
