Sat, 22 Mar 2014 03:29:37 GMT — A Combes woman was arrested Friday evening after a young child she was supposed to be watching was found wandering a busy street. 21-year-old Krystal Marie Galvan was booked into the Cameron County Jail pending arraignment for charges of endangering a child, a second degree felony. Around 5:15 on March 21 Combes Police received a call in reference to a lost child that was found wandering on Business 77 just north of Highway 107. When Officers arrived, several individuals stated that a young child, later determined to be three years old, was walking alone on Business 77, so they waited with the child until police arrived. Witnesses stated that the child was in the area for at least 20 minutes and no one that knew the child had been located. Officers began checking house to house when a Galvan approached officers and said she was watching the child while the child's grandmother was out and didn TMt realize the child had wandered off while she was watching a movie. Child Protective Services has been notified and will continue the investigation with the Combes Police.
