A driver is behind bars after authorities allegedly found 18 grams of marijuana in her possession after they pulled her over for littering.
Tanya Marie Villegas was booked into the city jail in Harlingen on a possession of marijuana charge.
The 19-year-old was driving a Toyota Camry on Harrison Avenue in Harlingen when police saw her throw a candy wrapper out of her window.
Harlingen police said they obtained consent to search the Camry after smelling marijuana.
Inside a pink purse, they found two plastic bags containing marijuana.
The Harlingen woman TMs bond was set at $2,000 for the charge.
