      Toddler taken by dangerous father found after standoff

      Cheyenne was allegedly taken by her father Jesse Thomas

      An Amber Alert is discontinued after a standoff led authorities to the two-year-old girl taken by her father in Houston.

      KHOU reported that Cheyenne Johnson was found in Houston her father after he allegedly held a standoff with police along Highway 249 in Houston early Saturday morning.

      Negotiators spoke with 33-year-old Jesse Thomas for more than an hour as he was inside his vehicle.

      According to KHOU, Harris County Sheriff Deputies blocked off an area of a shopping center near the highway.

      Cheyenne and Thomas were evaluated at the scene.

      Thomas, who is Cheyenne TMs father, allegedly took the toddler Friday afternoon as he kicked in the door to where she lives in Austin.

      The child TMs grandmother currently has custody of the toddler.

      KHOU reported at the time the Amber Alert was issued, it was believed Cheyenne was in danger.
