      Traffic stop reveals sexual relationship with runaway teen

      A 18-year-old man is behind bars after a traffic stop revealed that he was had a sexual relationship with a runaway girl from Florida.

      Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers arrested Isidro Vasquez, Jr. on Wednesday evening.

      Court records released Friday show that a state trooper pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.

      The trooper pulled Vasquez over on Gregory Avenue in the Cameron Park area of Brownsville.

      Vasquez allegedly told the trooper that he was 17 years old but a records check revealed his real age.

      The state trooper learned that Vasquez TMs 16-year-old passenger was a runaway from Plant City, Florida.

      Vasquez allegedly admitted to have a sexual relationship with the girl.

      State troopers charged Vasquez with harboring a runaway and failure to identify.

      Vasquez appeared before a Cameron County magistrate judge where he was issued $15,000 dollars in bonds.

      No charges have been filed for the sexual abuse allegations but the case remains under investigation.
