Authorities are investigating a trail derailment in Edinburg that has closed roads and diverted traffic.
It happened just before 3 p.m. on the 2200 block of west Canton near Jackson Road in Edinburg.
Canton Road is currently closed and drivers are asked to choose an alternate route while driving.
According to authorities, the train was carrying corn from the Rio Valley Switching Company.
Three cars carrying the corn derailed and landed on its side, leaving the product all over the roadway.
Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider says the corn is non- hazardous and non-threatening to the community.
Police have re-opened Jackson Road but Canton Road from McColl to Jackson is currently closed.
No injuries have been reported from the derailment.
