The jurors are all in the building and the trial of former Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos is underway.
Villalobos and his defense team arrived at the Brownsville federal courthouse before 8 a.m. Monday.
Jurors entered the coutroom about 45 minutes later.
Dozens of spectataors and members of several media outlets have all packed the court of U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen.
Villalobos is accused in a cash for court favors scheme that involves former 404th State District Judge Abel Limas.
Federal proseuctors announced in court that Limas will be the first witness they call.
Judge Hanen is expected to hear last-minute motions and then allow the jury to hear opening arguments.
Both Sergio Chapa and Daisy Martinez will be teaming up to provide coverage of the trial.
