Tropical disturbance approaching Mexican coast

Weather watchers right here in the Rio Grande Valley are keeping their eye on a tropical disturbance approaching Mexican coast.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami reported that a tropical disturbance formed a few hundred miles south of Manzanillo.

Hurricane season officially starts June 1st but forecasters are giving the disturbance a 30 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next five days.

The disturbance is headed towards the coast of southwest Mexico.

Action 4 News Chief Meteorologist Bryan Hale said the tropical development could pump up our chances for showers.
