Tropical Storm Karen heads for north gulf coast
Thu, 03 Oct 2013 21:21:26 GMT —
As Tropical Storm Karen moves northward toward the north-central gulf coast, temperatures in the valley will increase into the mid to upper 90's.
Streamer showers over western gulf waters are possible, but T.S. Karen is not expected to bring any shower activity to the Rio Grande Valley.
The hot temperatures won't last for long though.
A cold front is expected to sweep through the RGV Saturday night bringing a chance for rain across the valley late Saturday night.
Light showers are expected to continue Sunday morning behind the cold front.
Sunday's afternoon highs are only expected to reach into the 70's.
Temperatures are expected to quickly rebound with afternoon highs once again reaching into the 90's by Tuesday.
