A tropical wave is heading our way but this is a good thing.
The wave only has a slight chance of turning into a tropical cyclone.
The Rio Grande Valley is still in a drought and more rainfall would certainly help.
The area of low pressure is expected to be in the Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday and then heads west towards the Mexican coastline and possibly South Texas.
This will increase our chance at showers Friday and Saturday.
Action 4 News Chief Meteorologist Bryan Hale said forecast models show it coming our way but not becoming more than a tropical depression.
Hale reported that gulf waters are warm at 87 degrees Farenheit but coastal waters are cool at 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
He said the worst case scenario would be a tropical storm making landfall in the Valley or surrounding areas on Friday.
