Texas State Technical College officials said rumors about a active gunman on campus are false and are now the subject of a police investigation.
Several messages reporting a lockdown and gunman on campus were circulating on Facebook on Friday morning.
Administrators said those rumors were false and are now being investigating by the TSTC Police Department.
TSTC officials said it all started with a suspicious call made to the Student Services Building.
Campus police investigated and confirmed that there was never a real threat adding that students, staff and faculty were never in danger.
Administrators said an authorized lockdown was never in place.
