Two arrests in stolen Hummer case

Brownsville police have arrested two people accused of stealing a Hummer from outside a night club.
According to investigators, the vehicle was reportedly taking from the parking lot Illsus Night club at 943 North Expressway.
The vehicle was later spotted on the 34-hundred block of East 27th Street by agents with the Brownsville Investigations Unit Auto Task Force.
According to the agents, they noticed two men trying to get the Hummer out of the mud, where it was stuck.
Those two men were identified as 21 year old Hans Mendoza and 22 year old Paul Joshua Elter. Both were arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
Mendoza was given a $15,000 bond and Elter a $10,000 bond.
According to police, the two men were able to gain access to the vehicle, because it was left unsecure with the keys inside.
Brownsville police say it TMs extremely important for people to secure their vehicles by locking them up and add that alarms are highly recommended.
