Two men are behind bars following a disturbance that started in the City of Hidalgo and ended near two schools in the Las Milpas area of Pharr.
Pharr police arrested the two men on Thursday evening but they are both expected to be arraigned early Friday afternoon.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the two men were arrested for a shooting off South Jackson Road and West Anaya Road around 5 p.m. Thursday.
The incident took place near Valley View Junior High School and Valley View Elementary School.
Police said a man was shot in the ankle and was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators said the man will require surgery because the gun used was a high-caliber weapon.
Police believe that the disturbance started in Hidalgo and made its way into south Pharr.
It's not clear what sparked the disturbance or shooting but the two suspects were arrested in a red Ford Ranger pickup truck in Hidalgo.
