Mexican authorities confirm that at least two people are dead following a series of shootouts in Reynosa.
The gunbattles happened in different areas of the city on Sunday night.
Area residents turned to the social media network Twitter to report what happened.
Authorities remained silent until early Monday afternoon when the Tamaulipas Atty. Gen.'s office released a statement.
Officials confirmed two innocent civilians were killed in the crossfire of the gunbattles.
One of the victims was a child who was killed at a gas station.
The other victim was identified as a taxi driver whose body was found inside his cab.
Area residents dispute those numbers saying those killes were higher but officials are only confirming those two deaths at this time.
