A Las Milpas man and a woman died Saturday morning following a crash with an 18-wheeler on Jackson road.
Pharr Police responded to the scene of the accident at 2:45 a.m.
The two people killed in the accident have been identified by family members as Rigoberto Santana, 24, and Jessica Martinez, 24.
Santana TMs sister, Roxana, still finds it hard to believe that her older brother is gone.
"I even called him on the phone to see if he would answer, but no," she told Action 4 News.
Santana and Martinez were very close friends, Roxana said.
The two were driving southbound on Jackson Road when they crashed their red Chevy truck to the 18-wheeler.
"He was the first son, the only guy, she said. We TMre three in the family so it's really hard," she added, with tears in her eyes.
The truck Santana was driving went up in flames after it crashed. Because of it, the family has not seen his remains.
"If someone saw how it happened, how they hit, if it was my brothers fault or the truck drivers fault, that's what we want to know," she concluded.
It is important to her and to her family to find out so they can get closure, knowing he is in a better place.
The accident continues under investigation.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the crash.
