Authorities are investigating the death of a man and teacher after they were found with gunshot wounds outside of a Pharr elementary school.
The Pharr Police Department responded to the scene just before 7:30 p.m. after a 911 call.
Authorities told Action 4 News that the man and woman, who was a teacher at the Dr. William Long Elementary School, were found dead inside a red Cadillac in the parking lot of with gunshot wounds.
At this time, authorities believe the man shot the woman in the drivers seat, and then turned the gun on himself.
The vehicle belonged to the woman, and a gun was found inside the vehicle.
A school employee found the woman and man after aopen house the school held.
Police told Action 4 that the woman was at the open house for the elementary.
The open house ended at 7 p.m.
Authorities have not released the name of the two individuals, but an autopsy has been requested to find the cause of death.
Most parents and children left the campus before the incident happened.
At this time, the scene has been cleared.
This has been the third death in the last three weeks from the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District.
The superintendent, Dr. Daniel King told Action 4 that there will be extra people on campus to talk to the students and faculty.
