Two students injured in gang-related shooting south of Alamo

      Authorities are investigating a drive by shooting that left two students injured in the Little Mexico area south of Alamo.

      It all happened at a bus stop on the 300 block of San Angelo Street around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday.

      Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies told Action 4 News that several students were at the bus stop when a car pulled up.

      Deputies said the car was being driven by a 14-year-old boy and had a 16-year-old passenger.

      According to witnesses, the 14-year-old driver pulled out a gun and fired into the group of students at the bus stop.

      Investigators said a 14-year-old was hit in the abdomen and a 15-year-old was grazed by a bullet.

      Deputies believe the incident was gang-related but are not sure if it was due to retaliation or initiation.

      The two suspects are reported to be in custody.
