A McAllen woman is facing multiple criminal charges after she allegedly confessed having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
McAllen police arrested 19-year-old Ruby Medina Sunday.
Investigators reported that the victim TMs mother filed a runaway report after the victim didn TMt return home from walking her sister to work.
The victim TMs mother told police she believed the victim was with Medina.
Authorities found Medina and the victim together on Highway Avenue.
According to documents, Medina told police she didn TMt know the 13-year-old ran away from home.
Court records show Medina admitted to having sexual contact with the girl a few hours before authorities arrived.
According to police, Medina and the young girl began their sexual relationship June 2013 when the victim was 12-years-old.
Police said Medina was 18-years-old at the time they met.
Authorities told Action 4 News that the victim and suspect engaged in multiple sexual acts since June.
Documents stated that the victim TMs mother found out about the relationship and stopped them from seeing each other, but they started seeing each other again a few weeks later.
Police charged Medina with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of indecency with a child.
Medina remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under $750,000 in bonds.
