"Unruly" hospital patient charged for assaulting security guard

      A Harlingen man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly fought with a security guard while getting treatment at a local hospital.

      Harlingen police arrested 18-year-old Ricardo Walter, Jr. on and assault on a security officer charge on Friday evening.

      Investigators told Action 4 news that Walter kicked a Valley Baptist Medical Center security guard in the chest while being restrained for medical treatment.

      Harlingen police arrived to the hospital TMs emergency room.

      The 18-year-old Harlingen man was charged with a 3rd Degree Felony, an assault on security officer after he was released from the hospital.

      Investigators said the security guard, whose name was not released, was not seriously injured.

      Walter was taken to the Harlingen City Jail where he was issued a $5,000 bond.
