Valentine's Day assault on husband lands wife in jail
A woman is behind bars after police arrested her for aggravated assault.
Tharwah Khairi Alzoubi, 39, was arrested after her husband told Rancho Viejo Police that he was hit on the knee with a wooden stick by his wife.
The incident happened on February 14, around 7:00 p.m. in Rancho Viejo.
A probable cause affidavit obtained by Action 4 News shows that the alleged fight started when the woman became upset about her husband was taking their children without her permission.
Police documented she was upset because she only wanted to know where her children were going.
The husband, who was walking with a limp when authorities arrived, told authorities he was taking his children to dinner, but his wife would not let him.
Alzoubi stood behind her husband's vehicle in an attempt to stop him from leaving, authorities documented.
The husband showed authorities his knee, which was swollen and had a red mark.
The housekeeper was also allegedly witnessed the woman hit her husband.
Alzoubi was placed under arrest and transported to the Cameron County Jail for the family violence charge.
Her bond was set at $25,000 and she has since been released from jail after bonding out.
