Valley fugitive on Texas most wanted list

A Rio Grande Valley fugitive has made the Texas Most Wanted List.

There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of 35-year-old Abel Barrera.

He's a member of the Mexican Mafia and was last seen in Rio Grande City.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reports that Barrera is wanted for a parole violation.

He has a lengthy criminal history including burglary and transporting drugs.

Barrera's last known address was reported as 700 San Zeferino Street in Rio Grande City.

DPS reports that Barrera is considered to be armed and dangerous as well as having violent tendencies.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252- TIPS.
