Some three Rio Grande Valley men were included in a statewide sweep targeting illegal immigrants sex offenders.
The roundup was led by U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Authorities fanned out across the Lone Star State as part of Operation SOAR, or Sex Offender Alien Removal.
The teams arrested a total of 50 illegal immigrants who were also listed as convicted sex offenders.
ICE officials told Action 4 News that three of the illegal immigrants were from the Valley.
A 47-year-old Mexican national living in Harlingen was among the three Valley arrests.
ICE officials did not release his name but reported he was convicted and sentenced back in January 1996 for intent to commit sexual assault.
