Vehicle engulfed in flames during expressway crash involving bus

One person has died in a fiery crash on the expressway and at least two others have been transported to the hospital.

A Dodge vehicle collided with a bus on the expressway in Donna leaving one person trapped inside a burning vehicle.

The crash happened near the Salinas Road exit around 3:51 p.m.

Witnesses at the scene said a Dodge vehicle and a bus collided.

Authorities tell Action 4 News four vehicles were involved in the crash.

Lt. Rick Suarez with the Donna Police Department said they will continue to investigate the crash as "the victims deserve the best investigation" possible.

A Justice of the Peace has arrived on scene.

The eastbound lanes of the expressway near the area are now opened.

A spokesperson for Valley Metro confirms no passengers were onboard the bus during the crash.

The driver of the Valley Metro bus has been transported to the hospital for observation, and the Valley Metro spokesperson said the driver is "fine".

The identity of those injured and deceased as a result of the crash are not being released at this time.
