Violent reaction to spilled Kool-Aid lands man in jail

A young Harlingen man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly attacked his sister after their younger brother spilled Kool-Aid on the floor.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Edgar Rafael Vasquez on an injury to a child charge on Friday evening.

The alleged domestic violence incident happened at a mobile home park off the 9500 block of West Business 83 between Harlingen and La Feria.

Court records show Vasquez left Kool-Aid on the floor but his little brother knocked it over spilling the drink on the floor.

Vasquez allegedly got into an argument with his 13-year-old sister.

The young Harlingen man allegedly reacted by grabbed his sister and pushing her into the wall several times and slamming her head on the wall.

Vasquez remained in custody at the Cameron County Jail as of Monday morning.
