Campaign 2012 has many valley residents buzzing on who will be elected on a national level and on a local level.
Recently Action 4 News held a phone bank encouraging viewers to call in and ask questions about voting information how to register, where to go, and what to do.
It was a big success, in fact calls are still coming into the newsroom with additional questions.
Elections officials encourage these inquiries, but also want citizens to know that the deadline to register is fast approaching.
"Don't wait until the last minute, said Belinda Sagredo with the Hidalgo County elections office. Today is Friday, and the deadline is Tuesday October 9."
Sagredo said the most common concern she's heard by potential voters is if they are still eligible to vote.
She said if anyone has had a change in address from one county to another, they need to register again.
"We're really urging the public to please call us with any information we can help out with. We can let them know where they can pick up an application, said Sagredo. They can actually even download an application from our website, print it out, and fill it out, and bring it in or mail it in."
Sagredo said the presidential election is very important this November, but wants valley residents not to forget that city and school officials will also be on the ballot as well.
The applications have actually increased a little bit more this time around, said Sagredo. We're thinking that not only because it's the presidential election, but also because of those elections that are running county-wide."
