A water park is coming to Harlingen.
Construction is already underway in Fair Park area for the Lon C. Hill Water Park.
Harlingen City Commissioner Jerry Prepejchal city leaders voted unanimously to approve the project.
At a cost of roughly $236,000 dollars, the park will feature a splash pad, an aqua feature and shaped tunnels among other things. Construction is expected to be finished by the end of January.
The splash park will be free.
Prepechal said the project is sure to have a positive economic impact for the area.
"The entire area will be an entertainment center just for this kids, Prepechal said. That's the main objective."
