A Weslaco man spent a few days on the run but is now behind bars after being accused of beating another man with a baton and shooting at his house.
Weslaco police arrested 30-year-old Adrian Caballero on an aggravated assault charge on Thursday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Caballero is accused of beating a man with a baton around 5 p.m. Monday.
Caballero allegedly left the scene of the crime and returned in a car a fired several gunshots at the victim's home.
A motive in the beating and shooting were not immediately known.
But police told Action 4 News that authorities were able to track down Caballero to a home off Mile 11 North and Mile 4 1/2 West on Thursday.
Officers charged Caballero with aggravated assault and deadly conduct.
The 30-year-old suspect appeared before a Weslaco municipal judge on Friday morning where he was issued $6,500 dollars in bonds.
