Weslaco man surrenders after hiding murder weapon under doghouse

A Weslaco man man has surrendered to authorities after allegedly hid a murder weapon under a doghouse at his home.

Juan Martin Hernandez surrendered to Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies overnight.

Investigators told Action4 News that Hernandez admitted to hiding a gun used at a fatal shooting at the La Puerta Negra bar outside Mercedes.

One man was killed and two more were injured in the July 25th shooting.

Both the gunmen and his girlfriend were arrested in the case.

Hernandez is expected to be arraigned on a tampering with evidence charge late Thursday morning.
