A Weslaco mother spent part of Valentine's Day in jail after being accused of leaving her daughter home alone for several days.
Tiffany Medrano turned herself into to police on a child endangerment/abandonment charge on Monday morning.
Investigators told Action 4 News that it all happened on the 2400 block of East 11th Street back on December 11th.
Officers were called to the home where they found a 13-year-old girl home alone.
The girl was crying and told police that she hadn't seen her 30-year-old mother in days.
Officers allegedly saw dirty clothes and pizza boxes all over the floor of Medrano's home.
The girl was turned over the custody of relatives while authorities tried to locate 30-year-old woman but were not successful.
Authorities later issued a warrant for Medrano's arrest and she turned herself in on Monday.
The Weslaco mother appeared before a municipal judge on Monday morning where she was issued a $30,000 dollar bond.
