Weslaco ISD administrators were behind closed doors Friday to discuss who could be the new superintendent.
Last August the school board decided not to renew the contract of former superintendent Richard Rivera.
They accused him of ignoring the district TMs problems.
Some of the issues included that Rivera misused the state grant money, failed to address issues at the district TMs alternative high school and failed to address cases of insubordination.
Those accusations prompted Rivera to resign in November.
His last day with the district was December 31.
Since then, Dr. Ruben Alejandro has been serving as interim superintendent.
Action 4 News will keep you updated on the results of this meeting when they announce the finalist or finalists of the new superintendent.
