      What should the name of the Valley's merged university be?

      What's in a name?

      Both UTPA and UTB are merging into one university that will feature a medical school.

      But now, the biggest questions is what to call the new university.

      The University of Texas Board of Regents has launched campaign to collect community input on a name for the new university.

      Officials are taking nominations started on Monday, November 11th through Friday, December 6th.

      There are five names already on the table:

      The University of Texas for the Americas The University of Texas Las Americas The University of Texas International The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley The University of Texas South

      Other suggestions are also welcome.

      Although new university TMs logo and school colors will be determined by the new president, input from students and the community will be taken into consideration.
