Harlingen police arrested a San Benito man who was caught breaking into a car.

Officers were called out to the Chili TMs on the 1700 block of West Tyler Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night about a vehicle burglary in progress.

When police arrived, several people pointed at hime across the street towards Whataburger.

The officer was waved down by two people holding down 34-year-old Milo Ray Martinez.

The officer handcuffed Martinez and drove him back to the parking lot at Chili TMs to investigate.

There, witnesses told the officer they saw Martinez breaking into a white 1995 Lincoln Towncar.

Martinez allegedly removed the radio and remote, as well as a blue wartech knife.

The radio and remote were recovered at the scene and returned to the owner.

The knife was found during booking procedures in Martinez TMs possession and was kept as evidence.

Martinez was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

      Bond was set at $5,000.
