Authorities are looking for two men after a woman and her 3-month-old child were kidnapped at gunpoint.
It all happened at an apartment off Venus Street just east of Edinburg around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.
Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Office deputies report that the woman and baby were rescued in Raymondville but that the suspects remain at large.
Investigators said the woman TMs 20-year-old ex-boyfriend Jeremy Daniel Mendez and another man arrived at the apartment on Saturday evening.
Mendez demanded to see the woman and his 3-month-old son while the other man broke through the living room window screen.
The second man allegedly handed Mendez a shotgun.
Deputies reported that the woman came out and Mendez handed the shotgun back to the second suspect.
Mendez allegedly carried the 3-month-child in his arms while pulling the woman by her hair.
Investigators told Action 4 News that authorities went to Mendez TMs home in Raymondville.
Mendez ran away from Willacy County Sheriff TMs Department deputies but investigators were able to rescue the woman and her baby.
Both Mendez and the second suspect remain at large.
Efforts are being made to identify the second suspect but deputies reported that Mendez is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Investigators said Mendez has at least eight prior felony arrests.
There is no description of the suspect vehicle available at this time.
