Woman arrested after fainting when authorities searched her crack house
Starr County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force arrested a home owner in connection to a well-known crack house in Rio Grande City.
Adela Benitez was arrested this morning after 10 a.m. as she pumped gas at a Valero on Expressway 83.
Benitez reportedly fainted when she was served a search warrant by HITDA investigators at her home located on Jesus Martin Lane last week.
She was taken to the hospital while five people were arrested after more than 500 pounds of marijuana was found inside newlyconstructed bunkers dug underneath the house.
Benitez was released from the hospital and arrested today after an arrest warrant was obtained by authorities.
According to authorities Benitez fainted two years ago when the house was raided and authorities found cocaine.
That time Benitez was taken to the hospital and cocaine was found in her system Benitez charged with possession of marijuana and given a $200,000 bond.
She remains in the Starr County Jail.
