Woman arrested for trespassing at convenience store

A woman is behind bars for trespassing after a Stripes clerk asked her to leave the property.
Harlingen police arrived to the Stripes convenience store on 602 N. 1st Street Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, Melissa Powers refused to leave the location after a clerk and officer spoke to her.
Police arrested the 52-year-old for criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor.
Harlingen police told Action 4 that Powers didn TMt provide her name and date of birth when she was arrested.
Authorities transported Powers to the Harlingen City Jail.
She was charged with criminal trespass and failure to identify, a class C misdemeanor.
A total bond of $606 was set for the 52-year-old.
