A woman is recovering from the injuries she sustained in an assault that took place while she was waiting for a light to turn green.
The now hospitalized woman called police during the early morning hours after she was allegedly beat up at a stop light in Edinburg.
Police said the call went into their station around 3:42 a.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014.
A witness who assisted the woman said people who saw the crime happen called police.
The woman allegedly told authorities that she was stopped at a traffic light with her window open and a car was flashing their lights, police said.
She claims three men allegedly pulled her out of her vehicle and she was assaulted, Lt. Trevino with the Edinburg Police Department said.
The woman had bruising to her body and face, so she was transported to the hospital because of the injuries she sustained during the assault.
She was transported to the hospital after she called her friend from an Applebee's parking lot close by.
The woman told authorities the men are believed to be in their 20s or 30s.
