Woman dies after being shot in west Harlingen neighborhood
Authorities are looking for three men in connection to the death of a woman who was caught in the cross fire of a shooting in a west Harlingen neighborhood.
It all happened in a second floor apartment off Wright and G Streets around 6 p.m. Monday.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the scene.
Harlingen Assistant Police Chief Stephen Meyer spoke to Action 4 News about the shooting.
Meyer said two gunmen were after a third man and shot at him inside the apartment.
Assistant Chief Meyer said the woman was caught in the cross fire and died from her injuries.
Witnesses at the scene told Action 4 News that the female victim was shot several times, with at least two bullets hitting her in the head.
Assistant Chief Meyer said police received reports that the woman was pregnant but later learned that she was not.
Neither the two gunmen nor the man they were allegedly after are in custody. Police are searching for all three men at this time.
Investigators are not releasing the name of the woman but reported that she's 30 years old.
Police said the woman died from multiple gunshot wounds while en route to the hospital.
Harlingen police released a surveillance image of the two gunmen late Monday night.
