A Brownsville woman was arrested for having 92 packages of marijuana in her vehicle.
Jessica Garcia was found guilty on Tuesday for possession of marijuana.
The marijuana was allegedly hidden beneath new carpet in the rear area of a van.
A Customs and Border Protection agent noticed that the carpet was new, and during further inspection they discovered the marijuana.
The 22-year-old woman claimed she was kidnapped by the gulf cartel who then forced her to transport the drugs.
She claimed if she did not transport the drugs that she would be killed by the cartel.
However, investigators reviewed surveillance that showed her crossing multiple times through the Gateway International Bridge.
The surveillance video allegedly showed that she was never held against her will as she previously claimed.
Garcia was sentenced to 90 days in county jail by Judge Elia Cornejo-Lopez.
Garcia will be on probation for five years and be required to pay a $5,000 fine.
