Woman holding 10-month-old bites deputy
A woman is behind bars after allegedly biting an officer when she refused to give up her child to Child Protective Services (CPS).
Crystal Swindle allegedly tested positive for drugs, and a CPS case worker was at Swindle TMs house attempting to remove the 10-month-old child for safety reasons.
According to court documents, Swindle said someone was going to get hurt if they attempted to take the child away from her.
Swindle refused to give up her child to CPS, so authorities were called.
She then punched, kicked, and bit the deputy, according to court documents.
Swindle was arrested on counts of endangering a child, assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, evading arrest and interference with public duties.
She was booked at Cameron County jail where her bond was set at $37,500 for the charges.
